I DID IT!!!

I did it -- I ran 13.1 miles when just 10 months ago, I couldn't even jog down the block!

It's definitely a fantastic accomplishment, and I knew the second I finished I knew I wanted to someday do a full. It was the most powerful moment - you feel like you do anything.

My sister and I SURPASSED our goal and raised $4124 for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society!!! Thank you everyone who supported us throughout our endeavour!

It's been a while since my last posts, but I have been running -- I swear! I did the Rock and Run 5k on June 10th, which was actually a really fun event. My sister and I did yoga afterwards. She finished before me, and laughed her ass off as she watched me cross the finish line...

I did 5k on the treadmill June 16th (plus I was good and did 60 crunches!)

June 17th I ran with my sister in the Father's Day Run in Central Park for prostate cancer. That was a full 5 miles -- I had never run that before ever! Most I had done was 4 several months ago. We both took it easy. It was a beautiful day out -- not too sunny, slight breeze, not too hot. I did 3 miles easily. Miles 3-4 wasn't too bad. Miles 4-5, I was definitely hurtin'! And that's when my sister started running faster towards the finish!

My sister's time
My time

We ran together, but she's salty that I beat her by one second.

Wednesday June 20, did 3.1 miles around downtown Jersey City. Block running is so much different than running in Central Park or Liberty State Park... Time just goes by faster, cause the blocks are short and waiting for traffic is actually a good time for a breather. And my familiarity with the neighborhood made it much easier mentally -- you go to the other side of your 'hood, and you're like, that's it???

5 mile run this saturday...
