7 mile long run: 1 hour, 27 minutes (12.42 minute/mile)
I ran around complex, and then headed towards Liberty State Park. The run was torture. It was sauna hot and muggy. I looked like I showered with my clothes on by the time I got back to my apartment.
I felt good about my run tho -- I spent a good deal stretching before and after, and kept pace easily without being winded or tired. I took very few breaks, and did not stop for long. I feel good about doing 7 for the next few weeks.
In other news, I bought new sneakers for the rest of training and for race day, as my current ones are wearing down. They are just my current kicks in a different color... No need to mess with something if it works.
Also, been reading this book, "The Non-Runner's Marathon Guide for Women" which is an ESSENTIAL for any non-runner who's doing the same stupid thing I'm doing... (pretending to be athletic). It is gut-bursting hilarious and is completely motivating reading while you're going through training.
