I DID IT!!!

I did it -- I ran 13.1 miles when just 10 months ago, I couldn't even jog down the block!

It's definitely a fantastic accomplishment, and I knew the second I finished I knew I wanted to someday do a full. It was the most powerful moment - you feel like you do anything.

My sister and I SURPASSED our goal and raised $4124 for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society!!! Thank you everyone who supported us throughout our endeavour!

I hurt myself.

Since work has been so crazy as of late, I haven't been able to get some weekday training in. So I woke up early for a 6:30 am run with Krishna. I was running late, and kinda groggy from being up so early. I'm like, 'Let's go...' and as I step off the curb, I lost my footing and landed on the outer side of my left ankle. I came all tumbling down and this is the result...

Ugly, I know. But that didn't hurt me as much as the ankle I landed on, which was killing me. I sat on the curb bracing the throbbing ankle. All that was going through my mind was, oh great, no injuries the entire 8 months of training, and I blow it in the last month! It was actually quite embarrassing actually -- we barely got started and I was done. We sat for 5 minutes to let the pain subside, then I was able to put some weight on it slowly. When I could stand and walk gingerly on it, I decided I would continue my run. We did a light jog towards Liberty State Park.

I never came from that end of it, so Krishna showed me where there's a little bridge and walkway that takes you right into the entrance. I had no idea it was there, and it saves so much time getting into the park. We did about 3.5 miles around the park then headed back.

Anyways, had my ankle all wrapped up with an ice pack for the rest of the day, and had on all these bandages for my bloody knee. Resting for two days, but I still plan on doing my 10 miles on Sunday.
