I DID IT!!!

I did it -- I ran 13.1 miles when just 10 months ago, I couldn't even jog down the block!

It's definitely a fantastic accomplishment, and I knew the second I finished I knew I wanted to someday do a full. It was the most powerful moment - you feel like you do anything.

My sister and I SURPASSED our goal and raised $4124 for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society!!! Thank you everyone who supported us throughout our endeavour!

Today's workout was 40 min on the elliptical, and 1 mile on the treadmill. That was a 13:24 min mile... Kinda sucky, huh! LOL! Oh well, my goal is to finish, not for time...

I was rather tired today after only 10 minutes, but I pushed on. Watched the Staten Island ferry make a round trip, which is about an hour's worth of excruciating torture. I'd much rather be lounging on a seat on it, than see it snail across the harbor. And nothing was on t.v. Today was the epitome of why I despise working out on machines. The only time I was mildly entertained, was when I switched form the elyptical to the treadmill.

Like my sister says, "You're running a marathon, not doing it on an elliptical..." The only reason I'm not entirely running yet, is because I'm trying to strengthen my knee and my endurance first. Last time I trained for a run (improperly, might I add...) I messed my knee up and took a year to fully heal. Depending on how I feel, my next workout I will increase my run to 2 miles + 30 on the elliptical.
